Selected photos and recognized text

Notice Shift compares two photos you choose through Android’s file picker. Google ML Kit recognizes text on your device; the app compares that text locally. The selected images and recognized text are not uploaded to Omnet or sent to Google by ML Kit. There is no account, cloud history, advertising or purchase flow in version 1.0.0.

Temporary storage and deletion

The current comparison stays in memory and can be lost when Android closes the process. Clear session removes the comparison. Temporary import files are deleted after decoding; files left by an interrupted import are removed on next startup or Clear. Your original selected files are unchanged. Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling removes remaining app-local files. Android cloud backup is disabled.

Google ML Kit diagnostics

ML Kit sends technical diagnostics and usage metrics to Google, including installation identifiers, device and app information, recognition timing, image dimensions and format, input and output sizes, SDK versions, feature events and error codes. Google uses this information to operate, diagnose and improve ML Kit and detect misuse. Images and recognized text are not part of these uploads. Transfers use HTTPS. The app does not provide an SDK telemetry opt-out.

Opening original files

Open original sends the selected file’s URI with temporary read permission to an image viewer you choose. That viewer handles the file under its own privacy policy. Notice Shift does not request permanent access to your library. Access to a selected original may expire after the session.

Store, website and support

Google Play and Android may process information under their own policies. Opening this privacy page sends an ordinary web request to our hosting provider. If you email support, we receive the email address and information you provide and use them to respond. Please avoid sending private notices or other sensitive information unless necessary for your request.
